Quake Expo 2016

The fan-fueled online exposition known as Quake Expo is happening July 16 to July 30. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the original Quake. It's been 5 years since the last Quake Expo and we don't know why. I'm hosting https://qexpo2016.com and I need your help. Check out the site and sign up ...

Re: v278 release

Sorry to hear that. I was actually able to connect and play over LAN via wifi with this release. Now, I did have the server itself wired directly to the router. Sometimes it would find the server automatically but sometimes I had to manually enter the IP address. Are you able to connect qbism client...

Re: Major color overhaul

I was able to connect/ reconnect to other servers on the internet so it looks like a server issue. I'm guessing the server isn't really releasing the slot after player disconnects, and may be treating the new connection attempt as a duplicate. I will explore that possibility.

Re: Major color overhaul

Thanks for the reports and screenshots. I was able to duplicate this, but got the server running with -heapsize. It also took several tries to get connected, but I'm doing wifi server with wifi client, so I'm blaming that. heapsize is the only memory command recognized by super8. Try: qbismS8.exe -d...

Re: Major color overhaul

I think this will fix the networking issue:
qbism super8 v274.zip
(457.57 KiB) Downloaded 392 times
Also won't look weird anymore with original maps or old maps with non-vised water. But can fake water alpha with r_novis 1 and sv_novis 1 in the console (works for single-player only).

Re: v238 released

DOS could run most of the features. It's a memory limitation, and speed limitation on true retro hardware. I did a DOS port quite some time ago (before the port on Vogons) and it just couldn't load some of the large maps in DOS RAM limit. There's a QDOS port out there I don't know much about, but I'...

Re: v238 released

A year or so ago there was a qbism DOS port by Truth posted in the Vogons forum that backported some newer build features. The links may still be there although Truth was no longer active last time I checked. Linux would be nice, and I'm spending more time on Linux Mint myself. However it's low prio...
