Super8 v288 release

Post by func_qbism » Sat Nov 19, 2016 2:41 am

Super8 v288 release
https://github.com/qbism/super8/releases/tag/v288

New in build 288
——————————————————
Individual water, slime, and lava transparency like other modern engines. Console variables: r_wateralpha, r_slimealpha, r_lavaalpha

More video modes available. In the video menu, modes are listed in descending resolution, with high-res modes first. The menu is still limited to 40 modes shown, however, actual available is increased to 200. To see other modes type vid_describemodes in the console. Set vid_mode manually in the console to set a mode that doesn't fit in the menu.

Minor adjustment to screen offset calculation- show more of the view model.

This zip brings back optional pak88.pak, with custom palettes and improved/fixed models by various authors.

Downloaded and tested, looks great! Shame that the offset can't be applied to multiplayer. The addition of the water, slime and lava opacity is very nice too. Keep up the great work!

Hello, and nice work! I love the look of Super8 :) However I have a graphical glitch on all levels:

Do you know what's the problem?

I've seen something like that affecting the entire screen, but not individual textures. Does it occur with all resolution settings? Attach ID1/S8report.txt if you wish, maybe something there.

func_qbism, not sure if you are still monitoring this forum, but I got multiplayer working by using ProQuake as the server and Super8 as the client, seems to work great.

BUT I did find a strange bug in Super8, if I change the status bar scaling at all, then close super8 and relaunch it, it crashes. I have to go into the super8.cfg and set the status bar scaling back to 0.8 and it works again.

Yes, I swing by once in awhile. Good to hear from you and that multiplayer is working.

Is the hud scale issue any time or just multiplayer? Would you post s8 report txt?
